Impact in Three Areas of Interest

Education

By providing educational grants, we strive to enable passionate, dedicated, curious and empowered citizens. We have provided educational grants to young adults through partnerships with:

  1. University of Wisconsin-Madison Business School’s Zahara Kathawalla Scholarship Fund (2021; 2022; 2023)
    • This scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate students of any year and major within the Wisconsin School of Business. Recipients of this scholarship demonstrate financial need and demonstrate a commitment to the development of female leaders in business.
  2. Al-Zahra Madressa, Anjuman-E-Ashgari’s Zahara Kathawalla Scholarship Fund (2021)
    • This scholarship was awarded to one junior or senior high-school female student attending Az-Zahra Madressa, Anjuman-E-Ashgari. The recipient of this scholarship demonstrated financial need and demonstrated a commitment to applying for and attending college (either a 2-year or 4-year), after high-school graduation.
  3. Zahara Kathawalla Foundation Scholarship for Voice Lessons with JD Steele in partnership with Be That Neighbor (2023)
    • The ZKF Scholarship provides two female highschool students voice lessons with JD Steele at MacPhail Center for Music.

Cultural Exploration

Investing in new and different experiences through travel lends itself to an expanded awareness, outlook and acceptance of people everywhere. We have provided grants to support cultural exploration for young adults through partnerships with:

  1. The Zahara Kathawalla Memorial Fund for Global Studies at the Blake School (2021; 2022; 2023)
    • This fund provides financial assistance to deserving Upper School students who need financial assistance to participate in Blake Global Programs.

Wellness

Wellbeing is the foundation for the life balance, happiness, mindfulness, relationships and growth. We have provided grants to support cultural exploration for young adults:

  1. Zahara Sunflower Program in partnership with Park Nicollet’s NOW! Telehealth Mental Health (2022; 2023)
    • One Zahara Sunflower gift provides an adolescent, without means, one year of telemental health services through the Park Nicollet Foundation Now! Program.
